Well, Riding my 29er around the local parks and such I have a constant issue with prickers here in Coastal CT. seems I always have a slow leak in my tires. nothing big, just before any ride I have to go out and add 10 lbs or so to get the tires rideable.
Well, went to my local shop to get a new tube because the rear was getting to be more than just a slow leak ( would lose 10-15 lbs in a few hours) So I figured it was time to yank the tire, pull the thorns and slap a new tube in (old one had been patched more than a few times).
While standing there Just BS-ing with him killing some of his "slow time" while nothing was going on I glanced over and saw the Slime's sitting there on the shelf. I kinda snickered and said.. do those really work? He's response was...
"while I love you buying new tubes all the time, in all reality for you, it's Stan's or Slime's" he went on to say Stan's would likely be better but much more $$$$ and knowing how I like to "play" with my bike switching things around as long as the weight didn't bother me the Slime's would probably be my most effortless choice.
Well I got to say, I put one in the rear a few weeks ago, pumped it up... and I haven't lost 5 lbs since!!
If you are a weight weenie.. forget it,they are kinda heavy, though not all THAT bad. But if you just want care free, jump on the bike and ride tubes.. well I got no complaints with these!!
I'll give them a 9 out of 10. ya, heavy... but if you rate a product like this for what it's intended to do?... well it does it!!
