OK, soo getting tired of the stupid little mouse squealing his ass off every time I hit the front brake.

So, going to get him to pull his friggin tail back and keep it out of my way when riding!

How?, well by going to a 180 rotor on the front. Now I know the weight weenies say the 160 is fine up front, and it does work, But I'm hearing more and more about manufacturers just out right recommending a 180/185 rotor with 29er wheels. There is just WAY more rotational force on the bigger wheel, there's a lot more science behind it, but when it all comes down to it, that's the simple answer.
Now the big issue,...
I don't want to use Avid's big heavy dish plate of a rotor, but... Avid's systems only come in 185 where everyone else in the whole world uses 180. Yup, Sure,.. you can run a 180 rotor with the caliper on a 185 mount, and it'll work.. but if you'd tell me I should.. well,.. then you just don't know me very well!!
So I ordered up a generic type 180 front Disc Brake mount for a IS style mount. and went to Pricepoint.com and ordered an
Alligator Serration Disc Brake Rotor 180mm.
(which I'm waiting for the Big Brown Truck to deliver as I'm typing here...)
but I started to play with the brackets and quickly discovered why most people think you can't just use any old bracket with the Avid calipers....

As you can see the little tab is going to hit the mount, and it's not even all the way over to where it's going to sit.

Ahh.. but again.. it's me!!! just going to hack off the tab with the dremil tool...
as you can see I have already done it on the other side to clear the Magura Venti-Discs I was trying out before.. Well of course my dremil battery is dead so I came in here and started this.. Waiting.. Big Brown truck,, battery.... AHHHHHHHHH

my patience is wearing...
