Oakley M-Frames
« on: August 22, 2009, 08:04:20 AM »
Back in '94, i purchased a beautiful Oakley M-Frame package.
With 3-lenses (dark, yellow, clear) and a nice zippered/padded box, i was so happy with them.
A couple of years later the frame broke. I sent it to Oakley (who generated a database and case history, complete with RA#) and they replaced it for free. Recently, just last month, the frame broke again. All the lenses and nosepieces are in perfect shape. Even the padded/zippered box is mint. I figured it was finally over after all these years.
Upon contacting Oakley, they informed me that the M-Frame line is still in full force and that all lenses, over all these years, will fit the M-Frame style frames. In other words, my old lenses fit the new frames and the new lenses fit the old frames. I think that's amazing!
My broken frame is back at Oakley and I will be receiving a new frame for $39 including shipping back to me.
Although many of my ride buds think Oakley is a tad overpriced, all I can say is this:
If product support is this good, it certainly seems well worth it.
I've owned many glasses over the years and Oakley is #1 in my book for customer service and support.
Lets face it, if you ride hard, get dirty, shove your earpieces into your helmet, etc etc , you'll probably break 'em someday. But it's good to know there's support when you need it.
I give Oakley a 10 for product quality AND customer service.
The bitterness of poor workmanship remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten...

Holy crap, you just made me want to spend again! The fear of most people is breaking expensive Oakleys but with this type of warranty and service, I think I'll reconsider. Not that I would want it to break but good to know in case of accidents.
