solo ride in the am
« on: September 01, 2009, 09:21:01 AM »
There is nothing like going for a ride early in the morning, having the trail to yourself with crisp air to keep your body comfortable and hearing the wildlife go about thier morning and having a true connection with nature. This morning was one of those mornings I decided to go for a ride early on a whim I was reallt trying to get ready to back to work tomorrow so I set the alarm for 5am as I got up and made a cup of joe and sat and watched the news I realized that it would be a great tie to saddle up and hit the trails. As I loaded up my gear and bike hearing the sound of serenity and peace I headed off to GR for a spin sure I was huffing and puffing the first part of the trail and thinking to myself this is crazy I haven't seen this part of the morning all summer but by the time I hit the ridges i started to feel at peace with myself letting go of my worries and feeling the stresses of daily life flee from my body and mind by the time I got to hunter's path and finished that section I stopped and just listened to the wind blow through the trees looking at the wonderful webs spun by the spiders and how they glistened in the sun light and at that moment I felt one with nature that true connection and how wonderous the world is away from civilization.

cool feeling huh?  Thats why I kinda prefer riding at a slower pace most of the time.. people who just wiz down the trail miss out on that feeling!  Glad you got out before having to deal with the school system again! ;D
May your last ride not be, "your last ride"!!

I had to wait 2 weeks for my wrist to heal and tomorrow I have to get developed and next week the kids come back and craziness begins then I will be able to ride once maybe twice a week if  want to go back to back riding hopefully I can squeeze in a quickie during the week and possibly ride in the winter if i can muster up the cash to get winter gear
