MTB Freaks Hang Out Here!
« on: November 13, 2009, 09:40:40 PM »
Ok. You'll all had fair warning.
FYI: There are some very heavy-duty east-coast mountain bikers .
Some are real pros. Most are extremely enthusiastic riders. Some are lurkers.
They all love MTB'ing.
Come fourth all ye MTB freaks.
I'm a freak. I think about bikes every day. I try to ride a couple of times or more every week. I even sit on the darn things sometimes, in my garage.
I often stare at my bikes..enjoying the very site of them.
Can't help it.
If i never make it to Moab, i'll still be satisfied with the trails round here.
Long Island, CT, Mass, Jersey, upstate NY...has great stuffs!
Cheers to NEMBA and CLIMB.
Good organizations like them help fan the flames of MTB "freakdom".

You mean I'm not the only one that takes laps around his/her house just for fun :o? Making an excuse to go in the garage so I can tweak the brakes or see if the head set is loose? ::)
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty well preserved body but rather to skid broadside totally worn out proclaiming “”WOW What a RIDE!”

Yeah I am freak.  If I won the lotto, I would quit my job, build trails, ride them, build bikes, ride them, blog about them (already do that), and continue what I do, think about bikes every day!

I think I'd end up going one step farther and get a shop started, not only for sales and repairs but I'd LOVE to learn to build frames and make all kinds of custom stuff! :o

Careful what you wish for!  :evil12:
I hear rumors that a LI shop is for sale/ripe for some sort of change.  :-X
Whatever the case, our own "Master Llama" would create a SMOKIN LBS.

This locality could really use a kewl shop, complete with expresso bar, vid screens, lounge, music, ...uh...someone pinch me.

So what's so wrong with that?!
(Jame's bike looks scary. What's with that tube so close to the ground?! I've heard of "lowriders", but that tube looks like it's designed to scoop up ants.  :o )

That's probably like one of those razor scooters so when you bottom out you get sparks!

just for those that don't know, James (the guy on the above bike) is the Long Island's personal Mad Scientist biker/welder/builder guy.. he's building that bike he's riding there.. it's only about 80% done in that image...

it started out as these 2 bikes....

if you're interested you can read the whole story here..
http://www.climbonline.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1255149481/0

I got to say there is something disturbing about the pictures of the 2 frames all hacked up and lying on the ground in pieces, kinda like a disemboweled body!!   ^-^ ^-^
