Lookie what I built!!!
« on: May 12, 2010, 09:16:48 PM »
Got my wife a new bike for mother's day sooooo Papa had to have a new whip too :undecided: :undecided: :undecided:

Got hold of a 2003 Marin Wildcat frame real cheap and had a bunch of new and used parts hanging around so here is my latest frankenbike  :evil12:

Has a sick amount of travel 7" to 11" in rear depending on where you hook up the shock, 160mm (6.3") front. I have it set up for 7" and it rides sweet!! I'm not that radical a rider, biggest drop I've done so far is 2-3 foot but it is still fun and rolls fast and smooth. I don't know what it weighs yet but feels on par or a little less than my old Trek Y-11.

I haven't had a chance to really trail test it yet between little league, cub scouts and the weather I've only taken it out around the house and to Rocky Neck with the family. This Sunday I plan on getting out for a few hours, can't wait  :D
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty well preserved body but rather to skid broadside totally worn out proclaiming “”WOW What a RIDE!”

Yea! Single pivots rule. That rig looks like a perfect AM ride.
You gotta share the recap of it's maiden voyage Sun.
The bitterness of poor workmanship remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten...
