Lake winter shoes
« on: January 22, 2009, 04:15:21 AM »
For years I have been wanting a pair of these, but they are expensive and couldnt justify spending that kind of money. This Christmas my mom didnt  know what to get me so I lie and told her they were $150 and I put in the rest. I commute to work by bike just about everyday, all year. For years, in the winter, I have always used pricepoint shoes with the neoprene boots that work ok but never really kept me long after 20 minutes.

The Lake shoes are awesome!!! Very comfy, very warm. I wear a regular ( thin) cycling sock and my feet couldnt be happier. They are well worth the money.. espcially once you start riding the trails. I noticed this especially on yesterdays commute when it was 8 degrees at 4 am in the morning!!

What's the coldest temps you have ridden with these?  I got a pair of Shimanos last year and they are great to about 30 degrees but anything colder and they're not that hot.

There was a guy selling a few of these on CList in Stratford earlier this year.  I don't think he had my size but he was selling them at $150 a pop I think.  Ad is no longer up but that was schweet.  Performance has them for $219 but something like this I would prefer purchasing in a store so I get the right size.
