Kenda nevegals
« on: January 30, 2009, 11:04:13 PM »
these are the ultimate do everything tire!!!  I have had them on  many different bikes and in both tube type and UST and just love them.  they are great for bouncing down a loose rocky hill and then hold up and roll like the wind on long hard pack straights.  Tired of changing tires for each place you ride? what to ride one then just bomb over to another with no worries? then these are the tires for you!!!

not the best tire for any one thing.. the best for doing them all!!!

I just ordered 2 29er Nevegals 2.35's.  How are they on a single speed?  Should I just put them on my geared FS?

they are a good do anything tire, not a great at any one thing, depending on your terrain they should be good on either bike  lot off SS 29ers I know prefer a smaller tread on the rear because they are up and out of the saddle and weighting the back tire more so they don't need as large a tread...  I've found I want more tread on the FS 29ers, the Mt Kings are nice, little more roll resist, LOT more traction

Kenda Small Block 8 for instance?  Any others that you may suggest?  I live in MA where it is rooty and rocky and somewhat similar to CT I think.  How about the front.  I have the G.F. Rig.  What are people using.  I want a good tire for they are expensive and don't have the disposable cash to try one and not like it.  This is for my ss.  I got in the Nevegals and put them on my FS and love them.

ya, lot's of SS'ers I know use the SB8's but they are all out on Long Island, pretty much a flat sand bar... thinking you'll be ok with the nevagals.. might be a little heavy, but for rocks and roots, better heavy than flat  ;)

another thought, if you can still find some, the Kenda Klaws might be perfect.. super traction, light weight,  can be had cheap if you can find...  If I was running SS here I'd probably throw those on.. specially heading into winter, great snow tire  :cheesy:

I was going to buy a pair of these today but wanted to see some more feed back first. I think I'll pick them up on Tue. from RPC. Thanx.

I'm riding the DTC 2.1 Nevegals in the front on my Trek Fuel.
So far I'm pretty happy with them. Pretty good traction. Like was said, good overall tire.

I reluctantly mounted my Nev's on a bike that's had Karmas on it all year.
I forgot how kewl the Nev's are.
They hook-up on most everything and corner well too.
I've been spoiled by other tires with better rolling resistance but the Nev's seem to nail it in sooo many situations.
I'm very happy with my Nevegals
The bitterness of poor workmanship remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten...
